Please help your child to complete their homework each week.  This is clearly outlined on the homework page on the blog.  It is not a lot of homework and student are given the opportunity to work on their homework in during free time in class.  If you do not have internet access at home students know that they are able to use the stand alone computers before school each morning to work on their homework.  By Friday some students are worried because they have not completed their homework.  Homework is designed to be fun, easy to do, and to take 15 minutes each school day. The on-line activities relate directly to the learning that is happening in the classroom so if your child has found something challenging at school they can take time to practice and master a skill it at home.

A big thank you to those parents who have come to ask about homework routines if they are still unsure.  Please also read the class newsletter that was pasted into your child's homework book in Week 4.

For the last few weeks we have covered how to write a reflection.  This is one part of the homework that is often not complete.  Below are instructions taken directly from our homework page on how to do this.

Post a reflection about your learning on your blog.  You can post on your blog in two ways

1.  Log into your gmail address, click on the square, choose more, click on the blog icon, and then click post in the top menu.
Or
2.  Use your email address and log into the blogger icon on an ipad or ipod, take a picture, and write a comment.

Remember to entitle your post Week 7 Reflection.  Your comment needs to start with one of these sentences...

  • This week I learnt ...
  • I am proud of ...
  • Something I found challenging was ...
  • This week I enjoyed ... because ...
  • I have improved ...

If you are still unsure of how to do this see an expert in our class or come and see me.

All homework is checked on a Friday before afternoon break.  As you are given the opportunity to catch up on homework during free time in class it is your responsibility to make sure it is completed on time.

Take responsibility for your own leaning by completing your homework on time AND bringing your book bag to school each day.
